I was pleasantly surprised by how international the whole French ecosystem is. I often speak at meet ups for both developers and entrepreneurs and it was amazing to see how many companies are engaging with audiences and customers beyond France!
I grew up as an international kid; I lived in South East Asia until I was 12, North America until I was 14 and then the UK until I joined Sigfox in Paris two months ago (in July 2016).
I came to Paris, as a result of my job search. I was keen to learn more about French culture as well as learn the language and was aware that there was an exciting scene of tech startups coming out of France. I was particularly interested in SIGFOX because of its technology, ideals and approach to revolutionising its industry. I therefore looked for jobs at Sigfox and was hired. My relocation happened fairly rapidly so it was very much a case of find a flat/apartment and then move in! #REVIENSLEON helped me with this process and smoothed over any concerns/problems that I had.
Sigfox was just as I thought: it’s greatest asset is this drive and passion to make real world change -everywhere and anywhere. If you're interested in an international company who is making real world change that you can be a part of, SIGFOX is the company! Yet, I was also pleasantly surprised by how international the whole French ecosystem is. I often speak at meet ups for both developers and entrepreneurs and it was amazing to see how many companies are engaging with audiences and customers beyond France!
My background and experience working with a wide variety of students, developers and engineers on both a technical and social level has been incredibly important to meet my current professional challenge: on a technical level, it helps me design the content I am trying to deliver to be as accessible to all audience as possible. I also gained over the years the ability to adapt to different environments, in particular ones where you don't speak the language. Both are essential at my current position at Sigfox.
